Perhaps there is an explanation for this, but it seems very unclear. Why propose a crow hunt, when dead crows cannot be used for anything – and when killing animals that are used for nothing is a “wanton waste of wildlife,” normally illegal and subject to a penalty.

Perhaps the reason would be for depredation of crops, but this, as mentioned above, doesn’t make any sense since killing crows that attack crops is already legal, and will solve this problem for farmers. A statewide crow hunt will not offer any additional help to farmers, is not needed, and would be, by definition, “wanton waste of wildlife.”
